4pm

There's something extremely magical about winter time from 4pm-5pm. The light seems to diminish at an unknown speed and the presence of ice looks beautiful. Mark and I went exploring during this time last night..

I am in the middle of editing a short video about my two sisters and I for a Christmas gift for my parents. And here we are (including the pup):

take me far far

Lots to do in the next few days, including:
-4 video projects to finish up (or start)
-3 exams to study for
-2 more pages to finish for paper

Ohhh how I wish...
(image source: cannot recall where from)

This song goes rather well with that image.

bad behavior

Since I didn't have a tune in on tuesday last week, (and since I haven't been very active on my site), I'll let you jam to these two grooves in the meantime...

let's take a look

Let's take a look at Iris Apfel! Not only is her name appealing, but take a look at that magnificent wardrobe and style. And her glasses! I hope I'm this groovy when I turn that age.

in a nutshell

This picture seems to sum up my semester, and the next 2 weeks ahead of me. I will have to dig up a similar drawing I drew two years ago which represented another horrible school year. It had something to do with digging a large hole...

tune in on tuesdays

Hope your Thanksgiving weekend was fun, filled with lots of yummy food!

You may want to eat something before you watch the music video, but the song is wonderful nonetheless. In fact, if you went out and purchased his newest album, "What Will We Be", I can guarantee you'll love each and every track.

november nonsense

I know a couple people participating in No Shave November, so I thought I'd post this for some great furry facial art ideas. If my facial hair grew in manly fashion, I would go for the 'Mutton Chops' or perhaps the 'Sparrow'.

quite the collection

Denise Reytan is an artist living in Berlin (of course) who makes real cool jewelry and other art pieces, such as her object collection boxes. She seems to have quite the collection of colorful stuff.

a fitting message

I opened up my "Breathe Deep" tea by Yogi and found this lovely message staring back at me. How fitting for the day!

too cool

This really makes me want to pick up my paint brushes, if only I were as skilled as these lovely artists. I thoroughly enjoy how this video was shot and edited, and I hope you do too!

the fantastic

If you haven't already, you should see "Fantastic Mr. Fox" directed by Wes Anderson. I was blown away by the detail in the characters. The colors in the film were outstanding, and nothing far from what I'm used to seeing in Anderson's films. I think animation is a perfect medium for him!

tune in on tuesdays

An older jam by two of my favorite music artists (Mocky and Jamie Lidell). They are quite the dynamic duo.

And if I haven't inspired you enough to listen to Jamie Lidell, check out this video:

And since today is dia de los muertos (day of the dead), I thought I'd post a fantastic little animation.

a little help, please?

The task of fixing the couch I purchased for cheap is, well, a never ending one. I finally went to the fabric store and picked some samples for re-upholstering the cushions. I don't mind the current color, but they seem to be..um..shedding?

Also, finding a place to re-upholster the cushions is quite similar to finding a needle in a haystack. If only I knew how to sew..

I like the orange one. We'll see if this job ever gets done.

happy halloween & weekend bits

For my makeup class, I had to make a clown design on my face. I am not a fan of clowns, so my design was a little more on the fun side.

This weekend, Mark and I opened the Sculpey clay and let our imaginations create these lovely clay heads. My figures need a little dental work and Mark's look like they are hypnotized. I can't wait until school is over so I can really try my hand at animation, and begin Walter the Worm.

What did your weekend consist of?
